Years of experience, coupled with the continued technological advancement within the wood floor industry, ensures that we deliver a premium product at all times. On almost all floors we sand with three grades of sand paper: 40, 60 and 100 grit. This ensures that any possible imperfections in the wood are removed while maximizing grain clarity in the final product.
We use top of the range dust collection equipment to ensure a dust-less operation. Our vacuum system collects approximately 98% of the dust that is created during the sanding process, the rest we clean up manually. We don’t want dust in our homes or businesses, and we know you don’t either.
Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey
This water based clear finish uses recycled whey protein as its bonding agent, giving far superior durability once cured than that of the average water based wood finish. Whey is a natural byproduct of the dairy industry and is thus a renewable resource. Another important factor is that it has very low Volatile Organic Compounds, and thus minimizes the impact to the indoor and outdoor environment. Available in semi-gloss, satin, and matte finishes.
This plant based penetrating oil is environmentally friendly, sustainable and free from any preservatives or artificial colors. It contains primarily cold-pressed vegetable oil and aromatic hardening oils. This natural oil penetrates deep into the wood forming a gentle barrier against every day wear, dirt or spills and helps the wood retain its natural appearance.
This hard-wax oil (Based on natural plant oils and waxes sunflower oil, soya oil, thistle oil, carnauba wax and candelilla wax), penetrates the surface of the wood instead of sitting on top as a film like you find with traditional polyurethane finishes. This helps to bring out the natural splendor and character of the wood and preserves this natural look and feel of the wood while protecting it from every day wear.
Made in Belgium, this exceptional hard-wax oil made from natural vegetable products is one of the most environmentally friendly floor finishing products on the market today, with zero VOC’s. The technologically advanced product is based on molecular bonding, whereby the natural ingredients of the oil react with the primary cellulose fibres in the wood. It protects and colors wood in a single application, while protecting it from every day wear.

Water based wood floor finishes
There are several advantages to using water-based wood finishes. Contrary to popular belief, water-based urethane is actually more durable than oil – and also far less harmful to the environment, as well as to those using it. It is very low in harmful Volatile Organic Compounds, so when the job is done you won’t have to worry about venting out the volatile fumes left behind found by many traditional oil finishes. The drying (curing) times are exceptionally fast, usually within 24 hrs, minimizing the downtime between coats. Water-based finishes tend to retain the original (non-yellowing) appearance.
We use a variety of water-based urethanes based on the needs, wants, and requirements of the job. They include but are not limited to:
